An Analytical Solution for the Torque and Power of a Solid-Rotor Induction Motor
 2011
Proceedings of the International Electric Machines and Drives Conference (IEMDC)
An analytical solution for the torque and power of a solid-rotor two-pole three-phase slotless induction motor is presented. The field excitation is a current layer placed at the stator interior surface. The solution is based on an analytical solution of the diffusion equation in the complex domain. In addition, a generalized form of Poynting's theorem is derived, which helps determine how the power entering the rotor is divided into mechanical power and that of Joule's losses. Finally, the classical form of torque-speed function is derived.
