Herein is reported the synthesis and characterization of a [RR1P-PR]-type radical, (I) (R = 2,4,6-tBu3C6H2; R' = CH3). I is stable in the solid state at temps. below -30 Deg. Suitable crystals of I were unobtainable, but a combination of EPR expts. and theor. methods allowed for unambiguous detn. of its structure. [on SciFinder (R)]
