In Ar matrix reversible aggregation of Au atoms to Au2 and Au3 clusters and dissocn. to monomers and in Xe matrix the formation of a special AunXe complex is obsd. The conversion ratios reach 103 and the aggregation efficiencies show thresholds and a progressive increase with power. [on SciFinder (R)]
