(+)-(1S,2S,3R,4R,5R)-2-[(2',3',4',6'-tetra-O-acetyl-alpha-D-galactopyran osyl)methyl]-5-methoxycyclohexa-1,3,4-triyl triacetate was derived from D-galactose and (1R,4R)-7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-en-2-one.
