Graphic statics has been strongly employed as a method to analyze and design structures. Whereas the former use is well documented in literature, the latter has been rarely discussed. Based on a close investigation of original working-drawings, this paper focuses on the graphical methods adopted by Luis Moya Blanco for the design of one of his most famous works: the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Araucana in Madrid, 1972. The paper first recalls the principles of graphic statics, describes Luis Moya Blanco’s work across Spain and contex-tualizes his construction techniques based on the wide use of bricks. The church of Nuestra Se-ñora de la Araucana is then introduced as well as Moya’s original working-documents related to the design of its masonry arches. The paper later investigates in details Moya’s original working-drawings in order to retrieve the key steps of his manual form-finding process.
