Development of a Framework for Topology Optimisation of Compliant Mechanisms

Graham, Elie
June 5, 2020

Topology optimisation explore the distribution of material inside a discretised design domain to optimise an objective. It is nowadays a effcient way to generate complex and often unintuitive designs. As additive manufacturing methods flourish, these designs are becoming feasible. By combining this new conception tool with compliant mechanism, we can find innovative solutions to create miniaturised systems. The aim of this project is to become familiar with the various aspects of topology optimisation, and improve an existing framework.
