EPFL is bulduing its Rolex Learning Center, which will be inaugurated in 2010. Point of entry to EPFL, the Learning Center will be a place where to learn, to obtain information, and to live. It will become a place where virtual and physical components combine to provide facilitated access to knowledge. Its very concept includes the flexibility and growth potential to evolve and follow, in due course, the pedagogical, social and technical trends of the School. The RLC is built as a huge academic library, multifunctional, with a full RFID management system. The EPFL environment, the concept of the RLC and the steps of its construction are presented, with the point of view of the Head Librarian.
