Invented at the end of the XIXth century, the electrodynamic loudspeaker has not much changed sincethen. Although the materials have greatly evolved, the geometry and the transduction principle staythe same. In many applications, the presence of two sets of suspension and the bulkiness of the driverbehind the membrane are drawbacks of the classical architecture. The search for a very flat loud-speaker has also been very motivated by several industries. In this paper, we introduce a new kind offlat, purely symmetrical with regards to the membrane, single suspension Halbach array loudspeaker. The simulation results presented here show the promising characteristics of our loudspeaker proto-type.
