CAMEA: Pyrolytic Graphite Experimental Results

The ultimate goal of the CAMEA concept is to reach a high analysing efficiency. This can be achieved in two ways. An analyser crystal with medium mosaicity will scatter neutrons with slightly different energies in different directions. Given a sample which is small enough i.e. geometrically limited resolution, then using several detectors next to each other will produce slightly different energy distributions in the different detectors. With one such analyser bank it is possible to measure several energies. In the CAMEA concept, many analysers are instead placed behind each other selecting different energies. This report deals with the different aspects of the Pyrolytic Graphite (PG) analysers for CAMEA. In section 2 of this report we present our finding on aligning such a setup of crystals.
