CAMPUS: a distributed system conceived to support B-ISDN services
1992
IZS'92, 1992 International Zurich Seminar on Digital Communications. Intelligent Networks and their Applications.
Discusses the goals, components, and concepts of the CAMPUS project, which aims at providing an intelligent broadband ISDN server, using previously developed building blocks, like a switching fabric, ATM interfaces, and host interfaces. Intelligent networks will need a lot of distributed processing power. That is why CAMPUS uses a multiprocessor architecture for computing as well as for communications, which makes it very regular and scalable. In addition, it includes fault-tolerance at all levels
