Shear stress mapping on the Lauter river

Beck, John
2006

In the framework of the INTERREG IIIb NWE project « Strategies and Actions for Flood Risk Management » (SAFER), a regional streambank erosion hazard model has been developed. This diagnostic model is tested on the Lauter River in Germany. Shear stress maps of the Lauter River are produced. These shear stress maps can be used as a diagnostic tool for prioritizing erosion prone rivers. More testing of the model needs to be done using more geological information and more hydraulic results from a large region.
