Reduction of pollution by changes to the kiln and by flue gas cleaning
A dry sorption system for F removal from kiln flue gases using CaCO3 (limestone) produces flue gases with a residual F content of <5 mg/Nm3. The CaCO3 reagent can be used for >=21 days in the reactor. The flue gases are taken from the kiln firing process and passed to the reaction cell at a flow velocity of <1 m/s to ensure sufficient reaction time for the F-CaCO3 reaction to give CaF2. The CaF2-satd. limestone is collected from the reaction cell and is recycled or removed as waste. [on SciFinder (R)]
