Utilisation des ressources locales – construire un refuge urbain dans le quartier du Vallon à Lausanne
Ce projet est une expérimentation qui vise à transposer les enseignements issus de l’étude du type architectural de la cabane dans un environnement construit. Ce processus cherche au maximum à tirer parti du site, du contexte, des ressources locales ainsi que des occupants à travers une manière de construire et d’habiter résiliente. A Lausanne, le Vallon est un quartier où convergent besoins et potentiels nécessaires à l’établissement d’une telle démarche de projet. D’abord, l’existence d’un fort engagement social, notamment au travers de la Marmotte, qui offre un hébergement de nuit pour une population marginalisée de par son impossibilité à accéder au système de logement standard. Chaque soir, une dizaine de personne dorment dans la rue faute de place, souvent à l’arrière de la Place du Vallon, à l’abri des regards. Ce fond de vallée aujourd’hui industriel, demain forestier, va faire l’objet d’un démantèlement des industries renforçant les qualités paysagères du lieu et représentant une source de matériaux de réemploi pour le projet. Le projet est un processus de construction participatif et itératif, conçu selon les besoins des habitants du quartier, marginalisés ou non, avec une certaine sobriété typologique et technologique, selon une implantation sensible au contexte, les matériaux disponibles sur site, et des techniques de construction et de déconstruction accessibles à tous.
