Method for synthesis of a metal organic framework composite
The present invention relates to a method for synthesis of a metal organic framework composite comprising the folowing steps: a) Synthesize a metal organic framework; b) Make a polymer grow on said metal organic framework, said polymer being chosen among polymers having i. at least a Lewis Base functionality which alows said polymer to bind to the metal organic framework surface, and i. at least another functionality that promotes electron donation, electron acceptance, Bronsted acidity or Bronsted basiscity, which alows one to cary out the folowing step c). c) Functionalize the surface of the product obtained in step b) by a chemical reaction between said polymer and a hydrophobic compound. The present invention also concerns a metal organic framework composite obtainable by such a method and the use of such a metal organic framework composite for catalysis, selective gas separation, drug delivery or separation of harmful contaminates such as metals and organic compounds from water.
