Thièle Rive Gauche: renouvellement urbain d’un quartier (Yverdon-les-Bains, VD)
C’est sur la rive gauche du canal de la Thièle que le projet de renouvellement urbain prend place, dessinant une trame verte et bleue au cœur de la ville. Un grand parc urbain, aménagé sur la rive pour offrir aux habitants un contact nouveau et un lien privilégié avec la Thièle, met en réseau les espaces verts, existants et futurs, du centre-ville. Le site est densifié par un îlot ouvert qui s'organise de la manière suivante. Au Nord, un bâtiment haut vient former un front bâti dans une logique de continuité avec les immeubles existants. A l’Est, un bâtiment bas vient faire le lien avec la construction voisine. A l’Ouest et au Sud, un ensemble, dont la hauteur varie selon la position, se plie afin de former à la fois une façade urbaine bordant le parc et de définir un centre. Dans la partie Sud, des paliers communs se déploient sur le pourtour de ce cœur d’îlot, véritable lieu de sociabilité. Les pièces à vivre sont traversantes et les séjours, orientés Sud-Ouest ou Sud-Est, sont prolongés par un espace extérieur. Au rez-de-chaussée, on trouve des bureaux, une crèche et des duplex, dont les pièces à vivre sont mono-orientées sur le parc afin de garantir une certaine privacité par rapport au cœur de l’îlot collectif. Yverdon-les-Bains, deuxième ville la plus peuplée du canton de Vaud, est prometteuse en termes de potentiel de densification. Le renouvellement urbain permet de densifier des tissus bâtis existants tout en y apportant un cadre de vie de qualité.
