Les nouvelles halles Laïssac de Montpellier (F)
L'augmentation incessante des grandes surfaces en périphérie urbaine a entamé la disparition successive des commerces de proximité dans nos villes. En parallèle, nos modes de consommation ont évolué vers une consommation de plus en plus excessive et de moins en moins qualitative. Face à ce constat, la nouvelle tendance est de revenir vers un mode de consommation plus réfléchi pour renouer avec une économie de proximité. Au travers de ce projet de “halle de marché”, l'objectif était de repenser le programme du marché afin qu'il s'accorde à nos modes de vie. Il s'agissait de construire un pôle attractif autour de la “food-culture” pour redynamiser un quartier en mutation aux portes de la vieille-ville. Une halle sur plusieurs étages qui se construit par une circulation, qui tourne autour d'un noyau évidé, pour connecter visuellement les différents plateaux. Une succession d'espaces et de programmes qui rythme la progression jusqu'au sommet et offre autant d'événements. Cette étagère urbaine accueille une pluralité de programmes, à des temps et des saisons différentes, et s'adapte au mieux aux produits. Par une architecture simple et discrète, les produits sont mis en valeur et montrés depuis la façade. La halle de marché devient un socle public et met en scène une vie quotidienne effervescente. On ira aux halles pour faire ses courses, boire un verre ou se restaurer. La halle retrouve son vrai caractère public de condensateur social.
