Terahertz-induced demagnetization in ferromagnets

We experimentally demonstrate ultrafast terahertz induced demagnetization in conducting ferromagnets, Ni, Co, and Fe. At even higher excitation fluence, the materials lose their magnetic properties and then get damaged before magnetic switching takes place [1].
