Designer Anhydride Clears the Path for Alkoxycarbonylations in Catellani Reactions
2016
Abstract
In this issue of Chem, Dong and colleagues show that an engineered mixed carboxylate carbonate anhydride serves as an electrophilic trap in palladium/norbornene-catalyzed double functionalization of aryl iodides, enabling the introduction of the synthetically valuable carboxylate moiety in the orthoposition.
