Optical Sinc-shaped Nyquist Pulses from Rectangular Frequency Comb Synthesis for High Spectral Efficiency

We present a method to produce optical sinc-shaped Nyquist pulses with virtual zero roll-off factor based on the synthesis of phase-locked, rectangular-spectrum frequency combs. Tunability and reconfigurability are shown with <1% power distortion.
