Measuring the Longitudinal Bunch Profile at CTF3
The CLIC Test FaÂcilÂiÂty 3 (CTF3) is being built and comÂmisÂsioned by an inÂterÂnaÂtionÂal colÂlabÂoÂraÂtion in order to test the feaÂsiÂbilÂiÂty of the proÂposed ComÂpact LinÂear ColÂlidÂer (CLIC) two-beam acÂcelÂerÂaÂtion scheme. The monÂiÂtorÂing and conÂtrol of the bunch length throughÂout the CTF3 comÂplex is imÂporÂtant since this afÂfects the efÂfiÂcienÂcy and the staÂbilÂiÂty of the RF power proÂducÂtion proÂcess. Bunch length diÂagÂnosÂtics thereÂfore form an esÂsenÂtial comÂpoÂnent of the beam inÂstruÂmenÂtaÂtion at CTF3. This paper preÂsents and comÂpares lonÂgiÂtuÂdiÂnal proÂfile meaÂsureÂments based on transÂverse RF deÂflecÂtors, Streak camÂera and non-deÂstrucÂtive miÂcrowave specÂtromÂeÂtry techÂniques.
