Excimer laser-assisted thermal incineration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons at temperatures between 150 and 800 DegC
The combustion (oxidn.) is studied of anthracene and xanthone in a lab. scale incineration reactor illuminated with beams from a KrF- and XeCl-excimer laser at 248 and 308 nm. The destruction and removal efficiency of this photon-assisted process is substantially higher than that of purely thermal process.
