Across a critical history of the caraqueña urbanization of these last 50 years, the authors review the creative support of the self-built neighborhoods, the barrios, in the process of construction of the Venezuelan capital city. It making, they use it to undertake a critical analysis of urban planning, as professional practice and ideology.
