Na2MoO4 has been found to have a peculiar catalytic behavior. The CH2O formation starts after a period of time at 670 Deg. Then the yield increases and reaches a max. after 12 h. The catalyst undergoes an extensive phase transformation prior to becoming active. [on SciFinder (R)]
