New Promising Electrochemical Systems for Rechargeable Batteries

For the development of a rechargeable zinc/air battery, La0.6Ca0.4CoO3 (perovskite) catalyzed bifunctional oxygen electrodes and 3-D zinc electrodes were prepd. and tested in a bipolar zinc/air battery. In addn., a numerical model for the zinc electrode was developed and the numerical calcns. were compared with the exptl. results. The potential drop was detd. as a function of the c.d., depth of discharge and the no. of cycles. The max. power of a bipolar stack contg. three elements was detd. [on SciFinder (R)]
