The iron(III) chloride-multicatalyzed dioxygenation of enamides with TEMPO in the presence of alcohols has been developed. This multicomponent domino process affords efficient new strategies for the synthesis of alpha-oxy-N-acylhemi-aminals or alpha-oxyimides in good to excellent yields under mild conditions.
