This paper presents a vector current control method tailored for single-phase voltage source converters. In order to imitate the behavior of a three-phase system, the Fictive Axis Emulation (FAE) concept is employed. The latter is able to synthesize the rotating reference frame components of a singlephase quantity. The multivariable state feedback controller is designed based on the concept of complex transfer functions. A desired dynamic behavior and practical axis decoupling are achieved by proper pole placement. The controller exhibits robustness over a wide range of parameter variations. Simulation as well as experimental studies verify the described concepts.
