(Bio)Plastics in Biowastes and the Environment - Laboratory Investigations by Means of Knudsen Flow Reactor Experiments

Borgmeyer, Tobias
2025

This doctoral thesis aims to elucidate the changes in interfacial reactivity of one conventional polymer and two biobased polymers under both realistic and environmentally relevant artificial conditions. The study leverages the surface sensitivity of the Knudsen Flow Reactor (KFR) to investigate these changes. Furthermore, the research extends to examine the potential end-of-life (EoL) scenario of biodegradable polymers within industrial composting environments and here mainly the limitations of today's approaches.
