From health logistics to health supply chain management

Wieser, Philippe
2011
Supply Chain Forum: an International Journal

Philippe Wieser investigates complex health systems that are today organized in networks. Often these networks are underutilized due to a lack of coordination and consistency between the partners. The optimization of care quality and cost control is generally carried out locally and results in underoptimization. The concepts, methods, and tools used in industry make it possible to improve such situations and move from local care logistics to a global approach based on health supply chain management.
