Evidence of doubly OZI-suppressed decay ηc → ωϕ in the radiative decay J/ψ → γηc
Using a sample of (10087±44) × 106 J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the first evidence for the doubly Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka (OZI)-suppressed decay ηc → ωϕ is reported with a significance of 4.0σ. The branching fraction of ηc → ωϕ is measured to be B(ηc → ωϕ) = (3.86±0.92±0.62) × 10−5, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This result provides valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of charmonium decays, particularly for processes such as ηc → VV (where V represents a vector meson).
