Analyse de l’intermodalité fret en Suisse

2005

This paper provides an analysis of intermodal transport in Switzerland. It is part of a series of independent expertises carried out for the Observatory of Transport Policies and Strategies in Europe. Intermodal transport in Switzerland is composed, as far as 90% of it is concerned, of international traffic in transit and especially of transit along the North- South axis. Intermodal transport in transit is divided rather equally amongst road transport, rail-road transport (of which the far more spoken about than really significant ‘piggy back’, with only 4% of transit) and traditional rail traffic. So far, intermodal transport has only experienced a growth in parallel to that of road transport, without taking a larger share of the market. Forecasts for 2030 envisage a stronger growth on rail than on road.
