Increasing and decreasing inputs have no fundamental difference, which leads to a simplified implementation by changing indices. Symmetry implies that the fully demagnetised state can be taken into account without approximations. A frequency analysis demonstrates that all odd and only odd harmonics of the fundamental input frequency are transferred to the output.
