The proposed system is based on the electromagnetic time reversal theory and uses an automated FPGA-based real-time simulator to perform the fault location process. The high accuracy and reliability of the EMTR-based fault location method are integrated with the high computational power and time determinism of FGPAs to develop a fast and accurate fault location system. The performance of the developed system is validated by making reference to a multi-terminal HVDC grid and a radial power distribution network.Fault locationFPGAPower systems protectionElectromagnetic time reversalMulti-terminal HVDCDistribution networksepfl-smartgridsSingle-End FPGA-Based Fault Location System for Radial/Meshed AC/DC Networks based on the Electromagnetic Time Reversal Theorytext::conference output::conference proceedings::conference paper
