Decomposition of phosgene

A waste gas contg. COCl2 [75-44-5] is finely dispersed in water causing complete hydrolysis and producing an effluent gas with >1 ppm COCl2. When using wet activated C a reactor that is 50% larger would be required. [on SciFinder (R)]
