Experimental studies on the improvement of fixed-bed reactors by periodic operation - the catalytic oxidation of ethylene

The oxidation of C2H4 over an Ag catalyst was used as model system to determine the effect of cyclical variation of process parameters such as temperature, concentration, or mean residence time on conversion, yield, and selectivity to ethylene oxide. Improvements were noted.
