Synthetic helical polypeptide models the acetylcholine receptor channel function
1989
Proceedings of the 3rd Akabori Conference: German-Japanese Symposium on Peptide Chemistry
A review with 11 refs. on a fluorescent Aib-contg. peptide model for the acetylcholine receptor ion channel. This peptide induces single-channel conductance in planar lipid bilayers exhibiting one single open conductance state and weakly voltage-dependent kinetics. The peptides fluorescent dansyl group can be used to correlate motions of the peptide helix with channel opening and closing. [on SciFinder (R)]
