Abstract

A theor. anal. is presented for the prediction of the specific energy consumption and the required electrode surface for the electrochem. combustion of org. compds. on synthetic B-doped diamond thin film electrodes. The model is formulated for a perfect mixed electrochem. reactor operated as a batch recirculation system under galvanostatic conditions. The anodic oxidn. of orgs. is assumed to be under diffusion control. An exptl. validation with the anodic oxidn. of phenol and under different exptl. conditions is provided. [on SciFinder (R)]
