Reversed-phase HPLC can not be relied on as the only chromatog. step for the purifn. and anal. of synthetic peptides larger than 30 to 40 residues; therefore their purity should be documented by more than one anal. technique. Narrow-bore ion-exclusion chromatog. and capillary zone electrophoresis complement reversed-phase HPLC for the detn. of the purity of synthetic peptides.
