Abstract

This thesis investigates the structural behaviour of post-tensioned glass beams with adhesively bonded steel reinforcement. Several types of adhesive are explored in an experimental study which focuses on the potential loss of post-tensioning loads due to the creep of the adhesive. Post-tensioned beams are monitored in long-term creep tests at 20°C and 50°C, and subsequently tested in four-point bending.
