High quantum efficiency, low emittance electron beam from multifilamentary cathodes
We present a new type of metallic cathode, reaching quantum efficiency of 103. This value together with the estimated emittance, gives a brilliance of 2.8×1013 A/m2, making this cathode an excellent candidate for an ultrashort electron source. © 2012 OSA.
