Abstract

The MilliNewton force sensor is sensitive to lateral forces, in the direction of the length of the beam. The degree of sensitivity of such sensors depends essentially on the size of the force centring ball and the length of the cantilever beam. On the other hand, the sensitivity to lateral forces which are perpendicular to the beam is very small.
