This paper presents analytical expressions to model the diffraction of plane-waves at planar 2-D distributions of printed dipoles. In contrast to other available analytical or quasi-analytical models, this approach rigorously captures the main underlying physics and dynamic effects of the structure, leading to a very wideband analytical equivalent circuit. The accuracy of this model is verified by full-wave simulations.
