Abstract

Rapid pacing of atrial fibrillation (AF) can induce local capture of the atrial tissue. Heterogeneities in atrial substrate are considered to play in the perpetuation of AF by promoting AF reentries. The present model-based study investigated the influence of heterogeneities on the ability to capture AF during rapid pacing from the septum.
