Abstract

This paper discusses the results from an experimental investigation conducted to study the effect on using cellulose fibres as cement replacement on the properties of lightweight cement composite. The fibres were recycled from waste paper and packaging and the content in the composite was ranged from 0% to 16% by mass of cement. The prepared specimens were tested after 28 day of curing in order to investigate compressive and tensile strengths, density and thermal conductivity. Also, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) examination was carried out.
