Abstract

This paper outlines some of our recent research and built projects in the combined use of Computer Aided Architectural Design (CAAD) programming and Computer Aided Architectural Manufacturing (CAAM). The results of our work are ‘proof of concept’ built-projects demonstrating these technology driven architectural concepts. The conclusions from these projects operate on two levels: A set of conclusions with regard to the implementation of new technologies and processes for architects, and secondly, how these technologies can be presented to the different practices of architects and construction professional so as to best integrate customized Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) manufacturing within the working methodologies and established skill sets of more traditional architects.
