Abstract

This paper investigates the effects of temperature, thermal cycling and humidity on the structural response of SG-laminated reinforced glass beams (SG = SentryGlas®). To do so, a series of pull-out test (to investigate the bond strength of the SG interlayer) and a series of bending tests (to investigate the structural response of the beams) have been performed at -20, +23, +60 and +80ºC (the latter temperature only for the pull-out tests), after thermal cycling between -20 and +30ºC, and after humidity exposure. From the test results it is concluded that the SG-laminated reinforced glass beams provide high redundancy and durability.
