Abstract

Selective demethylation of the title compd. (I, R = Me) with BCl3 or AlCl3 was described. E.g., treating I (R = Me) with BCl3 in CH2Cl2 at 0 Deg gave 98% I (R = H). [on SciFinder (R)]
