000149446 520__ $$aIn this paper, we consider the use of object duplicate detection for the propagation of geotags from a small set of images with location names (IPTC) to a large set of non-tagged images. The motivation behind this idea is that images of individual locations usually contain specific objects such as monuments, buildings or signs. Therefore, object duplicate detection can be used to establish the correspondence between tagged and non-tagged images. Our recent graph based object duplicate detection approach is adapted for this task. The effectiveness of the approach is demonstrated through a set of experiments considering various locations.
