Solid-State Nmr Techniques For The Study Of Surface Phenomena

In this paper, we point out the specific aspects and difficulties of performing NMR of transition metal surfaces. We show how basic NMR techniques allowed us to determine molecular structures and rates of thermal decomposition of simple chemisorbed molecules, the electronic properties of the metal surfaces themselves as well as of the molecules bonded to them, and the mobility of adsorbed molecules
