Polymer reaction engineering at EPFL

A review, with 17 refs., on research carried out by the polymer reaction engineering group at EPFL in reaction engineering, including kinetic modeling of polymn. reactions (lab. and pilot scale reactors), free radical, polyepoxydation, polycondensation. Development, scale-up and optimization of continuous polymn. processes, in-line sensors for polymn. process control are discussed. Polymn. reactions, including polymn. initiated by multifunctional initiators and polymn. under supercrit. conditions are also discussed. The development of selective adsorbents from modified polymers and modification of polymer matrixes are described.
