View-dependent texture coding using the MPEG-4 video coding scheme

We present a novel technique for efficient coding of texture to be mapped on 3D landscapes. It enables the streaming of texture information across bi-directional networks like the Internet. The algorithm can be used with many transform based coding schemes. Results are presented using MPEG-4 video encoder
